Birch Forest in Snow, A winter snowstorm transforms our local forest. A short video.

A recent storm brought several inches of snow that coated the birch trees of our local forest—simultaneously softening and highlighting the graphic nature of their branches.

Travel has been virtually non-existent during the pandemic, so most of my recent photography has been local. When a recent storm dumped 4 inches of heavy snow on our neighborhood, I headed to our local forest of birch trees to look for possible compositions.


The video above describes the conditions and a couple of the resulting photographs.
